Use Your Pool as a Playground
Pool/Aqua Yoga is a very low-impact activity perfect for those recovering from hip or knee replacements as well as those suffering from joint pain, arthritis, back pain, and other issues. In the pool, the water holds you up and takes weight off of the muscles, which can relax and stretch without injury.
You will not only get stronger, but will improve range of motion and build balance, flexibility, and more.
How I can help: I’m Jo, a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) who had a full knee replacement and surgery on my feet. During my recovery the pool was my mat. I used noodles and dumbbells for the pool to help me create stability and strength.
The relaxation at the end made me feel as if I was floating in clouds.
